Stability Trumps Fiscal Responsibility

Board of Education has given Dr Tom Leonard a contract extension , along with a very sweet 6% yearly pay increase until his 2014 retirement.

“Dr. Leonard provides exceptional leadership during these uncertain and challenging times,” said Board of Education President, Brian Battle. “As a board, we agree with the need to maintain the stability and continuity he provides in guiding Barrington 220 both academically and financially.


The worst part of these salary increases, is that they are occurring hand-in-hand with a $2.4 million cut to services affecting students - including layoffs of some nontenured teachers.
